Vanity is a boss in Final Fantasy Mu. He is fought twice, once at the Temple of Antiquity and again at the Fathers Graveyard.
Challenged by the god of Darkness in a fit of anger and insolence, Vanity obliges the newly minted god and trounces him several times over.

"How intriguing. So this is the limit of your power..."
The first fight is a scripted battle in which Darkness is destined to lose. Vanity's level scales with Darkness's and is always 10 levels higher, making their fight an exhibition in humiliation. Only using his sword abilities, Vanity shows Darkness the true strength of a god and only stops when summoned by Nanohano. Darkness, however, manages to obtain a single feather during the fight, proving that no matter how strong Vanity is now, he will someday be able to truly challenge him.

The second fight with Vanity is extremely difficult and if often regarded as the toughest fight in the game, with maxed out stats almost as high as the final boss Vanity is power brought to life
This encounter Darkness faces Vanity along with light. This time, Vanity shows the full range of his abilities, swordsmanship and magic might. He seriously wounds light, and in a selfless display of compassion, Darkness lends Light his power and the two awaken to their true abilities. Vanity, unable to comprehend their combined might, is destroyed in a flash of power, ending The Creators right hand man for good.
